…use olive oil as an eye make up remover? It’s natural, cheap, and I’ve found that it’s very, very effective.
Some people get fancy with the natural oils, using jojoba oil, argan oil, or some sort of combination of many oils to achieve their utopian make up remover. Why not keep it simple?
There are many benefits to switching from a commercial make up remover to this fruit oil, which has been in use since 3500 BC (Cleopatra probably used it!!). Check out the fun html table I made below that compares olive oil to the past two make up removers I have owned 🙂
|Olive Oil||Artistry Eye and Lip Make Up Remover||Oil Free Make Up Remover|
|Hypoallergenic and Noncomedogenic||Yes||???||???|
|Natural Ingredients||Yes||Not even close||???|
|Full of the potent antioxidant vitamin E||Yes||No||No|
|Conditions the lashes||Yes||No||No|
|Moisturizes the eye area||Yes||No||No|
As you can see, even with the missing information, olive oil blows the other two out of the water. If you want to try it out, aim for organic extra virgin olive oil, and let me know what you think!
Olive oil has maaanny uses in hair and skin care that I’m still learning about and hope to feature in the future.
